Joe Staley attended Rockford High School. He played track and football at his former high school. He played very well and would receive an athletic scholarship to Central Michigan University. He would play at Central Michigan for three years. This would be a great thing for Joe and help his flourish during his college career.
At Central Michigan Joe Staley would start out playing Tight End by building up his frame and keeping his speed. He played Tight End in his freshman year. In his sophomore year he would be moved to Offensive Line and show how incredible he is. He dominated on the line and really started to cement himself as a high draft pick in the NFL Draft.
The San Francisco 49ers would draft Joe Staley in 2007 with the 28 pick. Staley would go on and stay with the 49ers for the rest of his career. He would live up to the talent a first round draft should be. He would solidify his spot on the roster despite all the coaching turmoil his teams would endure. In the current leadership with the 49ers Joe has taken young right tackle Mike Mcglinchey under his wing. They have formed a solid tackle duo. Staley would deal with multiple injuries over his career and come back ,and play at a high level.
Joe is married to Carrie Drew and has two daughters. Staley is signed for two more seasons with the 49ers. Joe Staley will be remembered as a 49er and a elite tackle for a long time.
