San Francisco Football Legends Take On ALS

*Around 1990, 27 former 49er football player veterans who were formerly members of the “Team of the 80’s” and other dignitaries wanted to do something to raise money for ALS research. They rallied on the “sidelines” and came up with the idea to share their collective memories with the public of their days on and off the playing field that would be sold on video tape (the popular format of the time) to raise money for ALS research. In October of 2017 when Dwight Clark passed from ALS it was decided that the time was right to resurrect this project and possibly even, stimulate a sequel of more recent stories for the same purpose. The oral histories presented here are time-capsule precious and give 49er fans a good look into the history of the beginning of football in San Francisco. Time has passed and a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) is yet to be found. This presentation is the dream these athletes had as their way to help. Now in DVD format, ALL PROFITS FROM THE SALES WILL BE DONATED TO ALS RESEARCH as was originally conceptualized by this special group of 49er veterans. To buy this DVD Visit 1000+Video

•The San Francisco 49ers and the York family announced on Wednesday that Terrell Owens will become the 28th inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame

*Over the course of eight seasons, the 49ers Faithful were fortunate to have front row seats to watch Terrell Owens develop into one of the most prolific wide receivers in the history of the NFL,” said 49ers CEO Jed York. “Not only was Terrell one of the most physically gifted athletes to ever play the game, but he was also one of the most competitive. We are so very proud and honored to induct Terrell into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame, where he will take his place among the all-time greats in our team’s history.

*I am so humbled to be mentioned with the likes and greats of Joe Montana, Steve Young, Jerry Rice and many others that have represented the San Francisco 49ers organization,” said Owens. “I wouldn’t be who I am and have accomplished what I did, number one, without God and without the push of my teammates and coaches, especially Coach Larry Kirksey and Coach George Stewart. The Bay Area is where I began my career, and I will forever be indebted to the 49ers and recognized as one of the 49ers greats. I am honored to be inducted in the 49ers Hall of Fame as this is a special moment with a special group of individuals. Thank you, again, to the 49ers organization and 49ers Faithful.

•              HEALTH & PERFORMANCE STAFF UPDATES

•              Ben Peterson – Head of Player Health & Performance

•              Dustin Perry – Head Strength & Conditioning

•              Shea Thompson – Director of Performance Monitoring/Assistant Strength & Conditioning

•Arik Armstead will remain with the San Francisco 49ers in 2019. The team already picked up Armstead’s fifth-year option last April, but the 49ers have until March 13 to make a final decision. It turns out that San Francisco has already made up its mind.

•Lynchahann speak at combile

Lynch said he wouldn’t rule out moving either QB, but he reiterated that the 49ers could very well keep all three in 2019

According to Lynch, it sounds like the team’s new defensive line coach Kris Kocurek will run less games up front. Instead, 49ers defensive linemen could spend more time going 1-on-1 in Kocurek’s Wide-9 philosophies.

Although Gould will remain with the 49ers in 2019, the goal is still to sign him to a multi-year deal.

Added strength and body mass will help make Pettis more physical, durable and explosive in 2019 and beyond.

A new contract with the 49ers would likely be a one-year “prove it” deal or a multi-year deal laden with team-friendly fail safes regarding Ward’s health.

•Garoppolo will be limited to 7-on-7 work throughout OTAs and minicamp as purely a precaution. The quarterback will resume full-team work in camp.

•McKinnon isn’t likely to rejoin the team until training camp.
