Thank You for reading this blog make sure to check out the latest Episode of Niner Faithful Radio above Go Niners!!!!!

The 49ers 2019 season was magical.  It had many ups and downs throughout the season.  No one really had a good feel for how the 49ers were going to do this season.  After going 6-10 and 4-12 the last two seasons no one expected the 49ers to be contenders.  The 49ers went 13-3 this season and made a SuperBowl appearance, let’s break this incredible season down.

The 49ers had a very strong start to the season.  They would win their first 8 games.  Also the 49ers would have the 11th hardest strength of schedule.  They would learn how to win games in many different ways over the course of the season.  They would learn to win on Defense.  They would learn to win on Offense.  They would learn to win on Special Teams.  This football team would go through their own tribulations and hardships throughout the season as well.

As football is a contact sport it is very hard to prevent injuries.  The Niners would lose many players to injuries.  They lost both tackles Joe Staley and Mike McGlinchey. They would also lose star fullback Kyle Juszczky.  George Kittle star Tight End would go out for a few weeks as well due to an ankle and knee injury.  Also many other players who ended up on Injured Reserve and ended their seasons.  The incredible thing about this is that the 49ers would be able to overcome these injuries with the depth on their roster.  The fact that head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch were able to create a very solid and talented roster helped this team succeed.

The team few losses would never overcome them.  The team would use these losses and learn from them and become stronger.  While the losses would sting they would look forward to the next game and get better.  In the middle of the season the 49ers would face their hardest part of the season with facing three teams with a winning record.  They would finish this three game stretch with a 2-1 record.  Also I can’t go on any father without addressing how phenomenal the defense was this season.  They finished with historical statistics and ultimately are a major reason the team was as good as they were.

The offense had its ups and downs this year.  Some games they were on fire and others they struggled.  Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 3,978 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.  He would finish with a passer rating of 102.0.  The offense would obviously run through Jimmy.  Tight end star George Kittle would finish with another 1,000 yard receiving season.  He would also cement his place as a phenomenal blocker.

The win in Seattle against the Seahawks would grant the 49ers a first seed and homefield in the NFC playoffs.  Where the 49ers would run over the Minnesota Vikings and GreenBay Packers for a shot at a Superbowl Victory.  While the 49ers would not win the Superbowl they had an incredible season.

The 49ers were not favorites to win the NFC or even their division but took the lead by storm.  The fact they were able to overcome all their injuries and tough schedule is remarkable.  The 49ers have nothing to be ashamed of for an incredible and memorable season.
